Three buildings, constructed in the seaside region of Kvarner in the last 80 years, tell a very pertinent tale of tourism and the social moment in which they appeared, confirming the old claim that architecture should be considered within the general development of its political, social and economic context. In the 1930s, the young and agile architect Kazimir Ostrogović designed the first modernist hotel in Malinska, his birthplace. Like Dobrović on Lopud, he promoted a new lifestyle, tourism and genuine physical enjoyment of the sea and the countryside.
